Kelcey Morange is an expert lender with 20 plus years in housing and mortgage finance. She is an expert in low income and section 8 housing and is passionate about housing access.
Raised largely in institutional apartments, she has worked for 20+ years in housing and mortgage finance. Her career spans non-profit shelter and group-homes, community lending and underwriting, advocacy and foreclosure prevention, and mortgage product development. She has worked closely with the Massachusetts Housing Finance Authority, Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance, Redfin, and several regional financial institutions. In each role, she has come to revere the safety, stability, community and civic engagement, and foundational security that come from being safely housed.
In her role as a mortgage loan originator, she supports thousands of clients through the home buying process. The purchase is one of pride, but the preparation can be both novel and frightening - many clients relay little introduction to financial concepts, mistrust of financial systems, and a growing sense that American economic opacity is hopelessly “have” and “have-not” by design. These frustrations highlight what for many is a fractured and dangerously limited access to financial education, and inspire Kelcey to demystify mortgage mechanics, securities, and the larger economic landscape they comprise.
When she is not working, she enjoys obscure history, mediocre coffee, and animal rescue.
She lives in Dorchester with her partner, and manages a small, residential mortgage team at Main Street Home Loans in Hingham, MA.
She is licensed by the NMLS in MA, RI, and CT.
